CO2 Reduction
We care about sustainable manufacturing and for years we have had our focus on reducing our CO2 emission.
In our coating department, we have reduced the CO2 emissions by 8500 tonnes per year. When we established our automated coating department in 2008, sustainability was already on our agenda, and right from the start, we have focused on ventilation.
Our robots can communicate directly with frequency-controlled ventilation motors, and regulate the ventilation up and down - depending on how far into the coating process, they are. This means significant energy (and financial) savings of up to almost 91 percent when the need for ventilation is minimal. (In relation to unregulated ventilation).
Overall, we have succeeded in reducing our total CO2 emissions by 70 percent.

Sustainability
SM Industries have the world's highest level of reuse in the metallization process producing wind components and towers. Our automated manufacturing metallize with robots equipped with metallization guns. This reduce the process time with over 50%.
